Course Description
The "Communicate to Connect" professional study course is approved by the Alabama Council for Leadership Development (ACLD). The course will award a Professional Learning Unit (PLU) and will count towards certification renewal. The master class is centered around "Everyone Communicates, Few Connects" a book written by Leadership Expert and bestselling author John C. Maxwell. During this course, educators will be provided with a blueprint to enact positive changes necessary to improve their schools and/or school systems.
This 8-Week Master Class, entitled “Communicate to Connect”, is designed to help educators gain insight and guidance to embrace the necessary shifts in leadership. Upon completion of the course, participants will be positioned to have a greater positive impact to influence forward-focused team members. The virtual class will be facilitated by Leadership Coach and Author Tasha M. Scott, Owner of Maximized Growth, LLC.
“I am excited to facilitate this ACLD PLU Approved course for educators,” Tasha M. Scott said. “This course will help educational leaders stay ahead of the curve by going beyond their professional title to focus more on ‘who’ they are leading.”
The course is open to all professionals in the educational field, including, but not limited to: school principals, superintendents, teachers, instructional leaders, educational administrators, and administrators of career and technical education.
Educators who participate in the “Communicate to Connect” Master Class can earn one Professional Learn Unit (PLU) upon successful completion of the program. Successful course completion involves participation in all webinars, reading of all assigned chapters in the "Everyone Communicate Few Connect" book by John C. Maxwell, completion of all written assignments, and engagement in a private, online Facebook community for educators.

Read MoreThis course was extremely helpful for me as a current teacher, aspiring to become an instructional coach. I was pushed outside of my comfort zone, which I did not like at the beginning. Once I saw the possibilities and learning experiences I gained from being pushed into uncomfortable positions, I knew this was something that had to occur. Tasha was great in making sure everyone's voice was heard in our discussions. I learned a lot through reading the book, but much more with the weekly meetings. I think this class would be very beneficial for any leader, or aspiring leader, to participate in because there are so many shifts that need to be made for productive and effective leadership to occur.
